Denim is unapologetic. It is universal, yet unique. It is a democratiser within the hierarchies of fashion. It is something inhabiting a corner in everyone’s closet. This week, the iconic Amsterdam-based denim brand G-Star RAW is launching their new “Exclusives by G-Star RAW” collection, a range encapsulating the brand’s endless creative approach when it comes to denim. In the visual campaign, the looks are modelled by no other than the young actor Langston Uibel, who is known for his parts in “Unorthodox” and “How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast)”.
This collection has been inspired by the extreme designs of Rallye Dakar, especially by the endurable “Enduro” gear, which has been exclusively developed for this sport. Moreover, the clothing is paying homage to traditional Japanese workwear, juxtaposed with silhouettes from Haute Couture in the 1930s. The colour palette swirls from desert sand to pastel green, preparing the wearer for the upcoming spring season.
Developed by the creative masterminds of G-Star, the collection has been brought to life in order to redefine the standards and marry timelessness and iconic silhouettes together. Drawing references to different styles and periods, every piece in the collection is telling its own story.

For women, the collection highlights include a versatile trench coat and a modern bomber jacket, perfect for long walks in the spring. With excellent cuts and modern tailoring, inspired by 1930s couture and the usage of durable material, this coat is made for every weather.
For the male customer, G-Star revamped classics from their extensive archive. The classic 72H jumpsuit has been inspired by Vintage lifeguard vests, equipped with enough pockets to store all the products in you may need for 72 hours. This piece combines versatility and utility in one, drawing references to a mixture of Japanese denim patterns. The highlight in the menswear sector of the collection is a timeless leather jacket, inspired by the Dakar-Rallye races. Juxtaposing an oversized fit and white leather, G-Star managed to revamp a classic into a modern piece, speaking for itself.
