Devoted entirely to resurfacing long-forgotten ad campaigns of the ’70s, ’80s and ’00s, @adrecall is a portal to eras past — punctuated by many of our favourite faces. From a wholesome Britney Spears casually sporting a milky moustache in support of the calcium-rich drink, to the ever-cool Grace Jones, flanked by two stuffed toy flamingoes, to promote Sun Country; from a classic Nokia 2000 (AKA the beloved brick you traded in for a Blackberry) flaunted in transparent PVC trousers to Rod Stewart kicking back in Kickers — these spreads are shamelessly devoted to their cause. In a time when subtle #sponsored ads are regularly snuck into our social media feeds against our will, these eye-popping posters, selling their respective wares with a bold, brash, colourful self-confidence, are as refreshing as an ice-cold Budweiser.
