W Magazine has unveiled its post-apocalyptic September cover graced by none less than the “Baddest Bitch of the Post-Apocalypse” Rihanna. Styled by Edward Enninful, Steven Klein and Andrew Kevin Walkers the futuristic looks feature designers such as Hood By Air and Gareth Pugh. Sporting heavy jewellery and looking fearless, the Barbadian beauty proves again why she is this generation’s most revered fashion icon.
“The thing about Rihanna is that she never wants to repeat something she’s done,” said Edward Enninful.  The final result is a cacophony of elements from a dystopian future ruled by “the last woman on earth, the last warrior on earth”.  Enningful described the process of developing of the idea with the pop icon as inspiring. “With Rihanna it’s always a collaboration,” he said. “I’ll send her ideas and she’ll bounce them back”. But if there’s one thing that is certain is that she gets what she wants. “She should [never] wear clothes off the runway because a queen gets her clothes made.”
Take a look at some of the hauntingly beautiful shots of Queen Riri in custom-made pieces by Cartier,  Margiela, Christian Dior, Prada and many more, in an arid wasteland scenario backed by Mad Max-esque men and ferocious canines. Slay!
