Romanian Design talent in the Tent

The last runway show at the tent yesterday presented a trio of emerging deisgn talent from Romania.

Adelina Ivan founded her namesake line in 2008 with a futuristic and minimalistic envision of women in mind. Her clothes are about “revealing the world within,” she says. For the AW13 season she presented sweaters with boxy shoulders, coats with flying trails and nicely draped dresses made of thick, loose fabric.

Meanwhile, Andra Clitan had a Transylvanian bride in mind. Dresses came with furry lapels and rich black pearl embroidery. Among the highlights was a knee-length skirt made of transparent black tulle and a black cropped turtleneck. Accessories-wise, the round hats and the black veils looked like as if they belonged to a charachter of a folk tail.

Then, Stephan Pelge’s woman is somwhat more upscale and refined. Shiny lilac, beige and brown silk and heavy leather dominated in terms of fabric. Breeezy turtlenecks and shirts were adorned with lacey details.
