The American photographer Spencer Tunick best known for his huge nude installations has done it again, this time in Hull. More than 3000 volunteers stripped down and got painted in hues of blue, simulating of a stream of water running through the northern English city.
The “Sea of Hull” project was meant to represent and celebrate Hull’s culture, whilst reminding the world what could happen to coastal cities if climate patterns continue to change. The successful turnout of volunteers for the project made it Tunick’s most successful UK installation to date and put Hull under the spotlight ahead of the city playing host to the 2017 Turner Prize ceremony.
