Emerging Georgian based fashion label, SITUATIONIST showcased their latest collection among monolithic sculptures and priceless canvases in Zurab Tsereteli MoMa in the nation’s capital, Tbilisi. The brand founded by Irakli Rusadez is showing great promise since the industry has shown increased attention to Georgian designers since the rise of Demna Gvasalia.
Besides hosting his show at the nation’s primary gallery venue, he is also amassing a venerable fan base, which includes It-girl/model of the moment Bella Hadid. Georgia’s MoMa is a modern, spacious museum dedicated to the luminous Georgian sculptor and artist, Zurab Tsereteli. The choice of venue is right on trend, as many of fashion’s top brands are moving away from the traditional runway show instead and exhibiting their collections in challenging, unconventional spaces. This move alone awards the brand an instant hipness and currency in the industry, and generated a tangible buzz around the presentation.
