Jessica Fulford-Dobson’s Skate Girls of Kabul reframes perceptions of Afghani girls’ lives. Their flips, pivots, jumps and grinds are set against the urban background of the city, its roads, car parks and skate halls. To produce the series, the photographer collaborated with the Berlin-based charity Skateistan, which funds skate parks and schools, offering children recreational and educational perspectives.
“Skate Girls of Kabul” has been extended and is on view until 8 January 2016 at the Berlin photography gallery Pavlov’s Dog (by appointment).
