Sleek x mb! by Mercedes-Benz: The Search Pt.VII

Danish fashion designer Stine Goya let us in on her personal recipe for working with others – and considering she won the DANSK Fashion Award for Best Collaboration two years ago she wasn’t a bad person to ask. When we arrived at her Nørrebro headquarters it was thundering and pouring down with rain, yet inside her studio/showroom everything was still sunny: golden, sparkling circus inspired clothes were illuminated by warm lights and Goya herself was glowing too. The designer is internationally known for her expressive language made of self-created prints, bold colours and playful designs.

Goya and her small team make six collections a year, two of which are for Weekday, and yet she still finds the time to collaborate with other brands such as the Danish bag designer Adax. How does she do it? “Trust, mutual respect and the ability to listen. A great collaboration is where you complement each other and bring different skills into the process providing a benefit that’s greater than the result of working alone,” Goya said before adding, “I always try to work around some kind of story when I collaborate.”
