“Berlin is a great city – it’s loud and crazy”
We catch up with Berlin’s new dream boy and Berlin-born Carl Hardorp from VIVA Models for our second instalment of Berlin’s hottest ones-to-watch series by Catherine Edwardina. See the full interview below to see Carl’s pointers for late night eating in city that never sleeps.
SLEEK: What gets you out of bed in the morning Carl?
Carl: My friends, but most of the time my mother.
S:What song do you have on repeat?
C:”Saint Pablo” by Kanye West and “Sun Keeps Risin” by Lissie. Listen to it, it’s great.
You feel most confident when wearing…
C: Hoodie, white oversized T-shirt, Ripped Jeans and some colourful boots.
S:Which designer would you love to model for?
C: I would love to model for Virgil Abloh, Kanye West and Hood By Air.
S: Name three things you always have on you…
C: My friends, mobile phone and keys.
How would you describe Berlin to someone who has never been before?
It’s a great city and it’s loud and crazy…Better than Munich!
The food that you can absolutely not live without?
Although there are so many different foods I love, it’s definitely burgers, sushi and crepes.
What is your favourite spot to grab a bite to eat in Berlin?
Windburger.
When you are not out and about modelling, what can we find you doing?
Watching movies or playing football, hanging around with friends and making my own clothes.
What’s the first place you take friends visiting Berlin?
Last week a friend came to Berlin and I took him to Windburger, even though he is a vegetarian!
How did you get into modelling?
I got scouted at the bus station by the lovely Bonnie
Modelling highlight so far?
Walking for William Fan.
Worst habit?
I often skip breakfast and I spend too much money on things that I can’t really afford.
Your highlight of 2016 so far?
Shooting for G-Star
Where do you like to grab a late night snack?
I always grab Döner at night. But no specific
Why Berlin? How did you end up here?
I was born here.
Where do you go dancing in Berlin?
I loved the Imperial but it sadly closed 6 months ago. I am still hoping that it will re-open again one day.
What do you like about modelling?
Having the opportunity to meet new people and to try interesting clothes
Your favourite Berlin Shop?
I like Kingz.
What are you obsessed with?
I’m obsessed with the Oscars. I love the speeches and the whole glamour.
What are you wearing at this shoot?
I am wearing an old jeans jacket from my grandpa and my comfy red hoodie.
Why did you style yourself like this?
It just felt right. It’s who I am.
