Gallery Weekend Berlin (May 2–4, 2025) is more than just art, it’s an urban experience. It transforms the city into an art marathon with 52 galleries across 61 locations, showcasing over 80 exhibitions and drawing international art lovers for open‐door events, talks and performances. For a day of nonstop gallery-hopping, nothing beats Crocs: their Iconic Comfort foam, odor-resistance, ventilation ports, over 120 colors and customizable Jibbitz™ charms make them lightweight, supportive and endlessly personalizable.

From art exhibitions to the short coffee breaks – we grabbed our Crocs and headed out. The result? Five inspiring galleries, lots of steps and – thankfully – no aching feet. Join Marie from the SLEEK team as she takes you through five must-see stops.

Gallery Neugerriemschneider

Berlin in the morning: the sun is already making Linienstraße appear bright and inviting. With pink-milk Classic Clog Crocs on her feet, iconic for their unbeatable comfort and customizable with colorful Jibbitz™ charms, Marie heads to our first gallery, perfectly equipped for art, conversation, and long walks between Mitte and Charlottenburg. The first stop is Galerie Neugerriemschneider. Thomas Bayrle’s exhibition “bewegung im stillstand” confronts us with escalating escalators, urban rhythms and floral superforms. His works, a mixture of new paintings, collages and films from the 1980s and 1990s, examine the interfaces between accelerated modern life, systems of movement and nature, which persists despite everything. In the exhibition “Your light spectrum and presence”, Olafur Eliasson presents new works that deal with light, color and perception. The installation includes a series of colored glass panels that filter the natural light in the gallery, creating an immersive experience. Between Thomas Bayrle’s optical superforms and Olafur Eliasson’s light-filled interventions, the space vibrates.

Café Good Q

On the way to the next gallery, we make a quick stop at Café Good Q, perfect for an outfit change and a relaxed moment before heading to Galerie Neu. Marie slips into the Coffee Classic Clog Crocs studded with Jibbitz™ charms, still breathing easily through their ventilation ports and still odor-free from the morning’s walk and pairs them with a casual cap and dress for a chic yet relaxed look that proves Crocs marry functionality with fashionable flair.

Galerie Neu

SoiL Thornton’s world awaits you at Galerie Neu. Their exhibition “The Rest” examines identity politics, diversity and the mechanisms of the art world. Instead of staging their own biography as capital, Thornton questions the rules and structures that determine our actions. Their cross-media practice encompasses painting, sculpture, photography, installation and video. The sesame Classic Clog Crocs inject a fresh pop of color, perfectly offsetting the exhibition’s restrained palette.

Gallery Sweetwater

Continue to the Sweetwater Gallery. Megan Plunkett’s exhibition “The Already World” shows two new series of works: Photographs of prop dollar bills taken in the desert outside of Los Angeles, and mysterious portraits of heavy trash bags. In her practice, she captures everyday objects and scenes that disrupt the perception of the familiar by breaking common visual features.

Marie switches into the hydrangea Classic Platform Crocs, their bold silhouette and chunky sole is a statement, even in the already very colorful art scene. Crocs, originally known for their waterproof comfort and durability, have long since established themselves as a fashion statement. Their striking silhouette, paired with a wide range of colors, makes them the perfect accessory for Gallery Weekend days.

Gallery Buchholz

In the Berlin afternoon sun, we took a look at the surrounding streets before heading to the penultimate gallery. The mood changed at Galerie Buchholz. Anne Imhof’s “Cold Hope” lays over the room like a heavy soundtrack – dark paintings, fragmented film sequences, controlled intensity. In the Buchholz Gallery, the tone becomes darker. Anne Imhof’s “Cold Hope” is intense, reduced and hits you right in the gut. Her large-format paintings are based on film stills that she has photographed from the screen. This results in moiré effects, blurring, veiling and wave-like pixel structures. These images are digitally reworked and painterly transferred to canvases. Here we are wearing black Classic Clog Crocs with a golden statement chain – a statement that perfectly matches Imhof’s dark energy. The Crocs styles vary from classic clogs to high-top styles and bring so much more than just comfort – they add a modern, fancy touch to any look.

Gallery Société

Our last stop for the day is the Galerie Société. In Charlottenburg, we immerse ourselves in Marianna Simnett’s wild, physical visual worlds. Her exhibition “Charades” presents new works that explore the body as a site of transformation. Simnett uses vivid and haunting means to create psychologically charged works that challenge both herself and the viewer. As a finale, Marie’s look is once again a real eye-catcher: pink Classic Clog Crocs with a short green dress ensure a strong and confident appearance. Crocs’ signature variety of colors from eye catching pink to more subtle tones, reflects the brand’s individual expression and flexibility, perceived not just as a shoe but as a fashion statement and everyday companion in the urban landscape of Berlin.
