With the aim of creating impact, SLEEK invited creatives and changemakers to join us for an unforgettable weekend at the Island of Usedom where the breeze Hotel welcomed us and our guests in the tranquillity of the Baltic Sea. SLEEK and GANT collaborated to spark discussion among the invited group of creatives and industry leaders about new areas of growth and exchange. Celebrated photographer Kristian Schuller has shared with the group about the dynamic energy that drove his creative work, and the constant self-growth that evolved alongside his projects.
Combining both the comfort of a hotel with privacy of a retreat space, the location serves as a place to find the feeling of home. Amenities are carefully planned for the guests convenience, and local merchandise pops up in the hotel’s store and restaurant. Special details, from the Italian press coffee at the “bagged” shop to a rejuvenating lip-care treatment at the Vela Spa, are carried throughout the whole stay. The breeze bar has crafted a menu of their own cocktails, including non-alcoholic selections, alongside a variety of the classics. The hotel’s innovation and its intimacy meet in the dining room of their restaurant, BRACA, where Chef Felix Pirwitz applies traditional Nordic techniques to a range of international cuisine.

Usedom itself offers a complex and layered history for interested visitors to explore. The island has undergone many changes in the millennia since its original settlement. Inhabited as far back as the Stone Age, the small island has been passed between European empires and their successor states, becoming at times a Polish ecclesiastical project and a seaport for the Prussian empire. Today it is a quiet and peaceful destination where visitors can relax on the beach, wander through the Botanical Gardens, and tour the richly biodiverse nature reserve.
The island, while pocketed with historical sites, has an expanse of open space for bike rides, long walks, or simply stretching out on the beach to sunbathe. Beaches of soft, golden sands stretch as far as the eyes can see, and the breeze offers its guests an unrestricted view of this island’s beauty. The architecture, especially in the Kaiserbäder, is a living testament to history, exuding an air of grandeur and nostalgia. Stately villas, adorned with intricate details, stand as sentinels of a bygone era when European aristocrats sought solace and rejuvenation on these shores.
