For the many, not the few: the interdependence between collective progress and social responsibility

Whilst we were still getting to grips with the impact of COVID-19, earlier in the year, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention released a public guideline imploring everyone to wash their hands for 20 seconds. Alongside this advice, they recommended singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song twice to ensure that an adequate amount of time was spent. This, however, was not the only music-handwashing crossover of 2020.

Rockstar-Photographer Bryan Adams saw this critical time of global health as an opportunity to explore gestures of hygiene through his camera lens. Made in collaboration with KALDEWEI, Adams’ images emphasise how the pandemic can only be overcome with unity, centring joined hands as the subject of his photo series. KALDEWEI has prioritised the eco-responsible and hygienic properties of its products, making  100% of their products in Germany—such an ethos serves as a further example of how collective efforts can be made to improve the quality of life for us all.

We are all naturally connected and have a responsibility to look after each other and the environment—everyday actions like washing your hands have never been more important.
