Since 2015, The Power of the Arts Award for the Promotion of Art and Culture has been committed to peaceful social coexistence and interconnectedness between communities, and is encouraging such things through the transformative power of art. With the devastation unfolding in Ukraine, the pandemic, along with social, economic and environmental pressures, it is more important than ever to work together to create systemic change.
Initiated by Philip Morris GmbH, The Power of the Arts Award is once again supporting four arts and culture projects with €200,000. Applications are open from the 1st April to 30th May 2022 to non-profit institutions and socially relevant initiatives that use art to promote social and cultural equality in order to break down structural, social and cultural barriers. The beauty of this initiative is the varying responses it gathers. Last year’s winners presented varying projects, from integration and participation in old age, to an intercultural dialogue in order to fight against racism, to the promotion of creativity living with disabilities in the art world.
