Estonian rapper and avant guard fashion muse Tommy Cash has a long history of being different, extra, experimental, hyper conceptual or maybe just plain weird.
All this is reflected or in Tommy’s case even distorted within his music and music videos. The content is excitingly averse to the mainstream while still carrying melodies accessible to the average ears. Adding to that is the stunning, out-there art and video direction by Anna Himma, which consistently delivers the same “Tommy Cash vibe” from tracks like “Racked” to “Pussy Money Weed”, which are very different and distinctive sonically.
Considering all this it comes as no surprise that Mr. Cash’s vibe has reverberated throughout the fashion and art world. It also isn’t in the least bit surprising then that Tommy Cash would move in circles of the likes of Rick Owens and, as of 2019, Maison Margiela.
What did Tommy Cash and Rick Owens come up with back in 2019 you might ask?
Maison Margiela branded bread slippers. That’s right, get ‘em while thery’re hot.
Tommy Cash X Maison Margiela Shoes (or loaves?)
Now in 2021 the official TOMMY CASH X MAISON MARGIELA capsule collection has been released, this time not only featuring baked but also actual garments. Maison Margiela Bread shoes? What’s next, designer Ramen noodles? That’s an affirmative.
Tommy Cash X Maison Margiela ramen noodles
This Time, while of course including actual garments that seem almost “normal” in comparison Tommy and Margiela have also come together to make Margiela ramen noodles. Eat at your own risk and don’t try to resell them once they have been cooked!
At the end of the day you could never quite exhaust the icon that is Tommy Cash but to hear is not to see and even further from understanding. So, cook up some Tommy Cash ramen, put on your Maison Margiela loaves and go watch Tommy’s music videos directed and curated by Anna Himma and himself.
