Following up on last season’s ode to the 80s, Topshop Unique had a plethora of 90s references for AW17. From grunge inspired looks consisting of oversized knitwear and ditzy floral dresses to rave-ready sporty zip up turtle necks – almost every corner of the decade was explored. The slinky spangled gowns were a luxe, elevated version of our favourite Jane Norman dress from 1998. Sequins were dressed down with combats and poker straight blunt hair took us right back to the beginning of our love affair with ghd hair straighteners.
The cast included Lily Donaldson, Adwoa Aboah and Lottie Moss (Kate’s half sister) among other Brit beauties who all epitomise the Topshop Unique girl. This collection is on the more accessible side of this season’s shows – so is bound to be a hit with Topshop girls everywhere.
