This spring at Prada, lips took focus with models sporting a glittering gold hue. The trend is set to continue in a vampier direction this fall, as Rihanna’s Fenty Puma presentation showed girls donning inkier shades of matte black. And though it may seem intimidating to try this trend at home, this week Lena Dunham has proven via Instagram that a foray into lip colour doesn’t have to leave you looking like Joey Tribbiani for Ichiban.

Dunham has publicly given her stamp of approval for the London based MDMflow, which offers shades in a range of coral, mocha, emerald and even turquoise – though beauty addicts are also getting their fix from cult brands such as Melt and Beauty Bakerie. We especially love Melt’s matte, smudge-proof formula, which is guaranteed to last throughout even the longest Berlin night out.
