Since 2018, Vacheron Constantin‘s “One of Not Many” campaign has brought together personalities whose way of being in the world reflects the values dear to the watch manufacturer. These values have made Vacheron Constantin a recognised and respected brand within the exclusive circle of Haute Horlogerie connoisseurs. Alongside musician Benjamin Clementine, designer Ora Ito, photographer and explorer Cory Richards and Haute Couture designer Yiqing Yin, artist Zaria Forman now joins the Maison’s circle of talents.
Though based in New York, Zaria Forman’s captivating pastel works are rooted within some of the world’s most remote and beautiful places. Testifying to the impact of changing landscapes, Forman is inspired by her expeditions that she has been embarking on for over 15 years. With her camera slung over her shoulder, Forman takes thousands of photos and videos of these landscapes in transition. Back in her New York studio, she then combines these images with the memory of her experience on the ground to create strikingly beautiful large-scale compositions.

With any adventure, one always needs a watch upon their wrist. “As early as the late 19th century, timepieces embodying remarkable advances in terms of anti-magnetism and water-resistance marked the beginnings of the Maison’s sports watches, such as the 1885 model resistant to magnetic disturbances and the 1898 pocket watch protected against humidity,” explains Christian Selmoni, Style & Heritage Director at Vacheron Constantin.
The Overseas collection has been designed to reflect this spirit in which elegance is adorned with robustness, attention to detail underscores essentials and aesthetics adapt to every circumstance. True to these principles, the brand is introducing four new models in pink gold and steel, featuring a 35 mm diameter of the gemset versions and 34.5 mm for the non-set models.
“I knew nothing about High Watchmaking and discovered this incredible world through Vacheron Constantin’s lens,” shares Forman. “I was amazed by the craftspeople who ply their trade within the Manufacture, by their passion and vocation, and, above all, their handcrafted work, which reminds me of my own: modelling with my fingertips; enjoying a tactile and sensual relationship with matter in a process of creation and transmission; making a personal imprint on time and giving it a voice. The landscapes I love and depict in my work illustrate the passage of time, and its impact on the world and on humankind.”

On the occasion of the shoot with Vacheron Constantin for their “One of Many” campaign, Forman drew material for a new series of unique works of art – Fellsfjara, Iceland – one of which is destined for Vacheron Constantin. This new body of work, including the drawing for Vacheron Constantine, magnifies textures and surfaces in the ice that the artist has never attempted before. In doing so, this series becomes a personal insight into her perception of the melting glacier ice.
“I am pretty much in a state of constant awe when traversing landscapes,” the artist adds, on the “One of Not Many” campaign. “I wanted to express that, in all its authenticity. The fragility of ice contrasts the reliability of an Overseas watch. Both tell time, and their intricacies, excellence and beauty run parallel.”
