It’s no secret that Basel is one of the art world’s most important cities, but there’s more to the Swiss metropolis than Art Basel. Located just northeast of the Rhine is the Beyeler Foundation, an art gallery that houses over 300 paintings by legendary artists including Pablo Picasso and Roy Lichtenstein. Recent years have seen the institution expand its focus to include photography, amassing quite the collection of works by Wolfgang Tillmans. On display until 1 October 2017, the Beyeler Foundation dedicates its first major photography exhibition to the work of this Turner Prize-winning lens master.
The show, which has been created in close collaboration with Tillmans, features 200 photos spanning the artist’s entire career. On September 7th, fans of the German photographer can catch the creative as he hosts an Artist Talk in cooperation with the Beyeler Foundation and UBS.
