Last week Zadie Smith held an event in a pub in Camden to discuss globally relevant themes of nostalgia, the “back to Africa dream,” and social and economic division in society. Additionally, the bestselling author surprised her fans with a discussion about her upcoming book “Swing Time”, which will be published on 15 November 2016. “Swing Time”, said Smith, is “a story about friendship and music and stubborn roots.” As well as considering the overwhelming jump that is moving from North West London to West Africa, the storyline follows two black girls who dream of becoming dancers, but only one —Tracey — has talent. After the international success of “NW”, which was released in 2012, the details of the new novel are already whetting everyone’s anticipation.
