Around every corner of the ancient city of Rome, there is a reason to be in awe. The ‘Eternal City’ takes one’s breath like no other, impressing with the ease of thousands of years of history scattered gracefully around the city, with places to pick up decedent gelato or refreshing limoncello hidden along the way.
For the occasion of the 13th and 14th round of the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Sleek explored Rome, experiencing both the fast-paced excitement of the city, as well as the intricacies of a place steeped in memory, art, and culture.
From the time of the Roman Empire, the need for speed has been imbedded in the city’s identity. In the ancient Circus Maximus, chariot races occurred, games which highlight the drive in Rome’s DNA. Though the fierce competition of these races has long died down, through motorsport the spirit lives on, as dedicated fans gather to cheer on their teams to this day.
