One month after Paris fashion week Azzedine Alaia – the designer who has always played by his own rules – finally shows his AW16 collection. When asked about the collection he said: “I took the time necessary to create them” – he will not be dictated by a schedule. The designer showcased loose-fitting styles with minimal structure and less iconic cling. He also paired cropped tops with long bellowing skirts, and capes covered A-line dresses while geometric patterns painted the catwalk. As Cher Horrawitz once said “An Alaia. It’s like a totally important designer.” And that statement still holds very true.
