SLEEK Your career started very early – from commercials to international series on Netflix. What changes have shaped you the most along the way?
VALENTINA ZENERE Since I was a little girl, I’ve always known I wanted to be an actor, and I’ve been very clear about that. Over the years, my journey has been one of both personal and professional growth. Moving from Argentina to Madrid at 21 was a huge turning point in my life – it wasn’t just a career move but also a leap into self-discovery. I’ve learned to balance being far from home, building my career, and dealing with life’s ups and downs. Every experience, from working on international productions to immersing myself in different cultures, has shaped who I am today.

S Let’s talk about those experiences. You’ve lived and worked in different countries, from Argentina to Spain and various international productions. Have these locations influenced your views on change?
VZ Living in different countries has taught me to embrace change and see it as an opportunity for growth. Moving from Argentina to Spain was particularly significant – it challenged me to adapt, embrace new ways of thinking, and engage with different cultures. Every move and every role have helped me broaden my horizon, not just professionally but on a personal level, too. Shifts from one place to another have pushed me to grow, adapt, and evolve.
S In the Netflix show Elite, you played Isadora Artiñán Goldstein, a DJ whose character changes significantly over the seasons. Are there parallels between your personal growth and the development of your roles?
VZ Yes, there are parallels. As an actor, I get to portray my character’s evolution while simultaneously experiencing personal growth. Just as Isadora transforms, I’ve gone through many personal changes, and it’s been interesting to see how my own life influences the way I approach my roles. The more I get to know myself, the more I can connect with and shape the roles I play, bringing more authenticity to each performance.

S You’re an actor, singer, and model. How do you deal with the challenge of constantly reinventing yourself across different creative fields?
VZ I thrive on the challenge of constantly reinventing myself. These different creative areas feed off each other and help me evolve personally and professionally. I think it’s so important to stay open to change and embrace new challenges. Whether it’s exploring music, modelling, or acting, each discipline gives me a fresh perspective and keeps me engaged and inspired. I make it a priority to stay grounded while also embracing the evolution that comes with each new experience.
S Change can be exciting but also scary. Was there a moment in your career when you consciously initiated a major shift?
VZ One significant shift was moving to Madrid. It was a conscious decision to pursue my career in a new city, leaving behind the comfort of home in Argentina. It was both exciting and daunting. I knew that in order to grow, I had to step out of my comfort zone. The decision came from a desire to expand my horizons, work on international projects, and take my career to the next level. It was a leap of faith, and I’m grateful for how it’s shaped my path.

S Your professions unite areas such as aesthetics, fashion, art, and culture – topics that are central to SLEEK. Has your personal and professional growth influenced your style?
VZ My personal style has evolved a lot over the years. When I was younger, I was very focused on trends, but now I appreciate simplicity and authenticity. I’ve learned to surround myself with things that truly reflect who I am and make me feel comfortable. This shift mirrors my personal growth – over time, I’ve come to value things that are timeless and meaningful. I think my style now reflects a more grounded and thoughtful version of myself.
