In Copenhagen we checked out a few places recommended by Wood Wood’s Karl-Oskar Olsen after we strolled through the area around his studio in Nørrebro, a locale populated by bohemians and students where the predominant look is vintage basketball and football jerseys and neon-coloured sneakers. Here we discovered an American diner-inspired restaurant called The Laundromat that offers what could be the world’s most amazing chocolate milkshake ever – almost too thick to suck up, being full of large brownie chunks.
Then, on Karl-Oskar’s suggestion, we headed to Christianshavn – an artificial island surrounded by canals and home to the former world’s best restaurant Noma and Copenhagen’s free zone of Christiania. We parked our Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 by the water and joined others as they sat eating and drinking by the water surrounded by little sail and house boats. The Church Of Our Saviour’s spectacular spire loomed above with it four crocodile tails intertwining until they join together at the peak – with no modern structure in sight, it seemed the perfect setting for an evening in Denmark.
